A Call to Prayer

We are facing an exciting and challenging time as a church. For over 100 years Kaiapoi Baptist has been a place of worship and  fellowship. God has been faithful over many years.

Last Tuesday the Elders and Pastoral Staff met and spent an extended time in prayer. We want to hear what God is saying about the next season here at Kaiapoi Baptist Church and we invite you to join us.

On Sunday the 15th of October we will be having another sharing service and we encourage you to spend time in prayer, seeking God’s direction for us as a church as we begin an exciting new season here at Kaiapoi Baptist Church.

The following are some guidelines for praying for God’s direction. They are adapted from a blog called a divine encounter.

1     Tell God that you trust Him with all your heart, and that you don’t want to rely on your own                     understanding. Proverbs 3:5-6

2     Claim God’s promise to instruct you, to teach you in the way you should go. Psalm 32:8

3     Affirm to God that all your ways are pure in your own eyes, and that you have trouble                               seeing your own errors. Proverbs 16:2

4     Echo Jesus’ words: “I seek not My own will but the will of Him who sent me.” Let God know that               you just want what He wants. John 5:30

5     Repeat these words of the psalmist: “Let me hear Your loving kindness in the morning; for I trust             in You”.  Psalm 143:8

6     Let God know that you’re asking for guidance, seeking His will, and knocking on the door of                     Heaven. Matthew 7:7-8

7     Ask God for a humble spirit, and remind Him of His promise to lead the humble in what is right,               and to teach the humble his way. Proverbs 25:9

8     Pray these words from Psalms: “Make me know Your ways, O LORD; teach me Your paths.”                          Psalm 25:4-5

9     Praise God for being your rock and your fortress. Profess His promise to lead you and guide you for         His name’s sake. Psalm 31:3

10   Ask God to teach you His way, and commit to walking in His truth. Beg Him to give you an                       undivided heart to fear His name. Psalm 86:11

Let us join together in prayer and seek God’s direction for us here at Kaiapoi Baptist Church.
