I am passionate about seeking God’s plan for our church in our community. I am a firm believer in helping encourage, support, and equip the congregation in seeking God’s plans for the giftings he has given them and that each person has a way to serve God and each other. By seeking His kingdom first and building each other up we can be His hands and feet in the church and the wider community. I am also big on communication and transparency, a Baptist Church’s decisions are made by its members and they can only make Godly decisions if they understand and know information. I believe that an elder’s position is one to advise and guide but ultimately, it is the church who makes decisions. I am also passionate about God’s plan for Aotearoa, New Zealand and His place in our bi-cultural nation. I am learning Te Reo and have a daughter who is both European and Māori and so this is a personal journey of our family’s as well as one I would like to see more of in our church. On a personal note, I came to God at age 6, and was baptised in my 20’s. I have walked with God for 32 years and that journey has been both hard and easy. I am honest about that journey and am forever grateful for God’s faithfulness to me and his mercy and grace. I am a solo parent and am incredibly joyous about the gift of parenthood. For fun, I like to spend time with my daughter, go on road trips, read and write books. I am an artist and enjoy painting or creating anything Arty, as well as reading and teaching God’s word. I am also a teacher at Middleton Grange School where I have taught Christian Studies for 15 years.
