How long will Building for LIFE take?
The Building for LIFE stewardship campaign consists of three parts:
– A seven week preaching series based on the book of Nehemiah
– A one of sacrificial gift in May-June 2019
– A 36 month giving commitment, May 2019 -May 2022.
What does equal sacrifice not equal gifts mean?
In Mark 12:41-44, Jesus talks about watching a widow enter the temple treasury, many rich people had given large amounts, but the widow only gives two small coins. Jesus rightly observes that the widow has given much more than the wealthy, she had given based on sacrifice not on sufficiency.
Why don’t you want to fund raise?
The church exists to honour God and to make disciples. When we remove our focus and our energies are poured into fundraising, we loose focus on why the church truly exists.
Who will know what I give?
The one off sacrificial gift and the ongoing 36 month commitment will be managed in the same way as our tithe and offering system. It will be kept confidential and your Build for Life contributions will be included in your tax certificate at the end of the financial year.
How do I get an offering number?
If you do not have an offering number please contact the office and we will help set this up for you. It is also possible to arrange automatic payments as part of Build for Life.
What if my circumstances change?
We understand that life is complex and things can change. You are of course free to change or cease you Build for Life commitment at any time.
Where will the money go?
All of the funds that are given for Build for LIFE will only be used for the redevelopment of the buildings here at Kaiapoi Baptist Church.
