Not many people like being told what to do! In fact in our current culture to tell someone what they are doing is wrong is probably one of the worst things you can do!  Paul in Chapter Four of Ephesians changes tack and moves from the Gospel story that has been the focus of Chapters 1-3 and starts to focus on our story. Paul talks about what we should take off and put  on, the old and the new.
