Dear Church Whanau,
The Elders were encouraged by our Church meeting last week and the sense of unity and consensus that came through in the small group discussion. They have decided to move forward in the following way:
As a church we have decided to treat everyone as unvaccinated.
This means that in all areas of ministry there will be both vaccinated and unvaccinated people in leadership positions and as volunteers.
On Friday we will begin in the ORANGE traffic light, which means that this Sunday our gathering will be different. We will also continue to evaluate and improve systems as we go so that we are in line with the government health orders and also taking care for the well being of our vulnerable.
Orange – 50 people plus volunteers involved in the gathering. You will need to register online or call Karen during office hours to book in for our services. The link for registration can be found on the Kaiapoi Baptist Church website, on the Covid 19 menu.
9:30 am Gathering – protective foyer space
ENTRY: For the main auditorium, entry will be made from the second door down the drive way. The main doors will be used for the vulnerable and those who would like to sit apart from others. The back toilets will be available for the main auditorium people during this service.
After the service, people from the protective foyer space will exit from the foyer door. Once this area is cleared people may move through for tea and coffee.
Tea and coffee will be self service for this season of life. If you are on the morning tea roster you will be required to do the dishes after the 11am gathering.
Offering – people rostered on the offering will need to count the offering after the 11am service. We will have a locked offering box that people can put their tithes and gifts in. You may also drop your offerings into the office during office hours.
EXIT: All will exit from the main doors following the 9:30am gathering. This is because some people will be arriving for the 11am service and will use the second door down the driveway.
High contact surface areas will be cleaned between the two gatherings.
11:00 am Gathering– Children’s Ministry runs during this service
ENTRY: For the main auditorium, entry will be made from the second door down the drive way. The front toilets can be used during this service.

The regulations encourage mask wearing for attendees. We are aware that some in our community also have exemptions.
We hope this makes sense to everyone. Please contact us if you have any concerns, comments or questions.
Remember…
Shalom,
Yours in Christ
