Life is full of seasons and rhythms. Throughout the year we not only have the natural seasons of summer and winter etc, but we also have regular seasons such as Christmas, Easter, the New Years and many others.

The church has a calendar, the liturgical calendar it creates a rhythm in the life of the church. Baptists do not adhere to the liturgical calendar in a strict sense, we celebrate Palm Sunday, Easter, Pentecost and Christmas but leave many things alone. Lent is the season of preparation before Easter and it can be lead to a deeper understanding of Jesus death and resurrection.
